Needin a lil help
Hi guys I just joined today , I'm a twenty year old college student and play football for a small school in wichita called Friends University. Not my first choice of schools but my father is the coach so i thought i owed it to him to play under him. Anyways I've been pretty spoiled my whole life because my father has been lifelong friends with some people down around Winfield KS who own a private 80 acre lake with the average bass being around 2-4 lbs. with a couple fish bigger than the current state records and crappie about 12 to 14 inches . So my question to all you defined gentlemen is this . I have a 16 ft. 2 man bass boat we never put it out on lakes because we always fish the private lake . This year i decided that i wanted to try some lakes otu and go out a couple times a week so i brought the boat out to my fiances parents house where my father-in-law to be got everything fixed from all the mice damage and got the 40 horse engine running again. I'm needin to know some lakes around the wichita area I'm not against driving an hour or two for some good fishing so im open to just about anything within a hundred miles or so of Wichita . We recently went out to Harvey county East lake with no avail but are going to try again because the weather kinda tricked us Saturday . Can any of you help me with some good bass and crappie lakes I'm really not that needing of a Catfish place .
Thanks.

Yeah I've been to El Dorado for some party cove action but never fishing. Gotta love those mussels my senior year in high school my friend cut his leg open and needed to get 17 stitches(fun stuff) . I play left guard for the team . I'm more of a tackle than anything or thats what i was going to play at O-State. Thanks for the welcome tho Apprecite it

Welcome, and I am glad to hear you where smart enough not to go to Okie-Lite...
Fall river is good and I use to have some good fishing at the Marina at Cheney on the rock jetties with a jigs/minnows under a bobber on warm days during the spawn. Try going over there with a few minnows at sunset here in about 3 weeks. You won't catch a ton but the ones you catch will not be small...
It's not duck season so I have to do something... :D
