Well went over to the local Res. this morning. Started out at the luke warm dock. I fished there for a couple of hours with no action. On the way home I thought I would drive around the lake and see if anything was still open... Turns out one of my favorite spots was ice free. So I thought I would cast a quick jig out to see if the brush was still there. Well it was and so where the crappie on two of the first three casts. Sooo... doing my best Chatt impersonation (without the panties I might add) I then went home loaded up for war and cold weather called HV and headed back out about 1. From 2 to dark the bite was on big time. HV and I went cast for cast for 2 1/2 hours. Very seldom did a jig make it back to shore with out a crappie on it. HV even had 2 different doubles. End of the day we cleaned a nice 2 man limit and tossed back a dozen more keepers. All total we caught at least 200+ fish in less than 3 hours, no real size to report 8 to 11" mostly... But my thumb is worn out and HV and I both have huge smiles on our faces.
Hairy with our take...

Pitching jigs, catching slabs, life is good
I have spent the last 2 days couped up in doors watching Midwest Crappie TV just listening to the sound of a good hookset. I got the call the fish were on and I couldn't get out of work and drive from Overland Park to the lake fast enough. When I pulled up he handed me the pole and let me catchem while he tied up my jigs. What a guy...
Nice to get that monkey off my back at for a day or so :D It was a great afternoon for sure and cannot wait to make it through the holidays so we have more free time.
LIFE’S TOO SHORT TO FISH WITHOUT BEER
Good looking catch, had a similar experience at Pomona MANY years ago.
