My fishing buddy, Don, just called to let me know he has stage 4 lung cancer with an estimated 6 months left.
Don is a great guy. He was also my skeet coach when I was shooting tournaments. He just turned 70.
He loves to fish and we had some great times on the water swapping stories/lies. He made several trips to Canada for walleye, pike, and lakers. He used to have a pontoon and slip at Pomona.
He is the 2008 recipient of the National Skeet Shooting Association's Ray Boller award...basically skeet's man of the year.
Hopefully I can get him on the water a few more times this fall.
