Fished the dam at Marion on Tuesday and we put 19 in the livewell. Fish are scattered all along the dam. Water temperature around 50.
How did you catch them?

Fished again Wed and had 15 nice fish by myself. Crappie are scattered along the dam...very seldom catch more that 2 in one spot...all 13 to 16 ft.
Tubes, 2 inch Wooly Beavertails been the best. Red and white best color but some big ol slabs on the brown and chartreuse WB. East of the outlet has always been better.
Those 2 inch WB's are hard to find so Warren at Canada Bait & Tackle is getting some in stock this week. His store is just south of the lake.
Just got a report that the Crappies have going good at the broken bridge in the river at Marion.
Nice job and thanks for posting. May have to make it over there this weekend.

Fish are still on the dam at Marion...we had about 20 on Sunday. Nothing hot and heavy and the fish are really spread out. Depth is critical and it's been varying even during the day. Might be a light thing. Nice fish Sunday with no throw backs and a few Black Crappies in the mix. Seeing a few boats hit the brush piles but not staying on them very long.
Broken bridge up on the river at Marion has been improving but inconsistant.
Hi all: I am first time poster, been reading the board for about a month. I appreciate the posts and good comments you all have provided. 6 of us from the Topeka area are going to Marion for several days this next week for our annual fishing trip. Most of the gang fishes for walleye but I'd prefer a nice batch of crappie. Any news on the reservoir would be appreciated.
Thanks, Dan
Welcome to the board Dan and good fishing at Marion![]()
Nothing makes a fish bigger than almost being caught!
welcome Dan,
We might have a mutual friend. Does one of your buddies happen to be named Billy and work at the jail ? If so it sure is a small cyber world we live in. He has been workin me for walleye info all week.

We have one in our group by the name of Bill, don't know if he still works or not. I'll ask him on Tue. Looks like we might get wet the first day or so. Thanks for the replies.
