Caught crappie on north end of lake in a 12' creek channel running through a 8' mud flat. WT was 56 they were buried in an old tree lay down that was on the channel edge. Using 10' crappie stixn 10lb slick 8 braid, 1/4 oz homemade heads with light blue and pink 2" slab slayers. Small fish were suspended over the top with bigger fish buried in bottom of tree. 15 1/2 " large fish. Can't post pic from phone will try later

Water is warmer where you are, not 50 degrees here, eastern Kansas. Thanks for the post.

Thanks from here also. Hit Cheney for a little toothier critter for a while Sunday afternoon. More of a scouting mission around the dam than anything. Water 52 degrees and nothing spotted in the dam area at all. Marked a lot of fish on the marina points but wasn't equipped for jigging so went thru them with cranks but no takers. Can't wait to get my hands on an Ulterra.

You'll like the ulterra. It can follow routes and go to marked brushpiles while you bait up.

Really been looking forward to it. Going to bite the bullet this spring. Still trying to decide on a HB to put up front with it. Have an 899 at console but currently running a Lowrance on my 40 lbs. Edge. probably wait a while on the finder tho. Can only spoil myself so much at once.

Do you have a HB 360 on your Ulterra?

Fished Cheney yesterday. Took home 14 nice crappie from 11" to 14". Caught them in 8 to 9 FOW on the bottom. All were in brush in the mouth of a cove. Was using Pole bender BOP series hot pink and yellow 3" baits made by shortdraw and orange 1/4 oz RR heads with small gold blade. Bite was really soft and nothing more than tension coming off the line mostly. 1/4 oz heads helped detect the lift better. I really like my new ACC crappie stix rods they are super light and sensitive with enough backbone to swing a 16" crappie in the boat without breaking. Really good for filling around in a brush pile.

Excellent report. Thank you. Planning on going out Friday afternoon. Taking crappie gear along this time. I've never had this boat after crappie. Still rigging it actually. Thought I'd try around the fish feeder cove inlet on the north end. If you ever see a blue aluminum PolarKraft running around I'd enjoy visiting. Congrats on the catching, and again thanks for the report.
