I gave it a shot Saturday at the SFL. The water was really muddy, like chocolate milk color - but I managed to catch a couple at about 2 ft below the float (top jig was 2 ft, bottom one was about 3 ft below the float). These were off of a point near the shallow end of the lake, west shore, one point past the feeder. One was 11", and the other was only 8" - females. I was fighting a swarm of gnats that seemed to follow me everywhere though. Lol Still had a good time for being limited to a few hours in the morning. Got there at sunrise, but had to bounce by 11am. Thanks for the recommendation - we go to Salina every once in a while. Now I have a place to go when the wife is still sleeping. Lol
