    Default El Dorado 5/9/2017

Went over to El Dorado today. Put in at Bluestem point, boat ramp 1. I started fishing right in that same cove and got 2 crappie in the first 20 minutes. Than nothing. Moved to a few coves East of there but still nothing. Came back where I started and got 2 more and that was it for the day. All fish on jigs in no more than 3 feet of water. Water temp 64 to 66, lake is up about 3 feet and muddy. All four fish were caught tight to some kind of cover. The three females had eggs but they did not look like they were ready to spawn any time soon. I dont think all the extra water is helping the fishing. Name: IMG_0290.jpg

I fished El Dorado up on the north end of the lake on Friday 5-5 with not much luck. Went out again Sunday evening caught 3 keepers and a half dozen little crappie. The fish I caught were anywhere from 9 foot of water to 3 foot of water. The three keepers I caught were all females and still had bellies full of eggs. I am wondering where the males are at? It has been a difficult year for sure at El Dorado with the water being up and down and muddier than normal all year!
