Close to home!
As you have seen, I have not been on Clinton much this year,
for what ever reasons. I was wanting to head to the Vertigris yesterday, but the rain
here, kept me away. Got up at 6am to storms heading away to the East. By 8am,
it had cleared up. So, I headed to Clinton. No minners at the marina, so back out of the park to git dem. Dey had-em but, dey was a little on de large size. Headed across to de South banks in de Rock Creek arm. Just across from de beach area there are sum standing trees. All I can say is WOW!!!!! 17 keeper size crappie in a row. Thot I was going to git a limit before I caught a dink. Take dat you dinkdale fishers! All tick-tick-tug in 6ft & less. As I headed West towards the old eagle nest area, The bite got worse but, it had started raining. Idled out and the rain stopped just about where I started. YES!!!! dey were still there. Rain & lightening made my stay short. Back home by 2pm with a smile on my face as I'm in love with a home lake again. As I was reflecting on what happened yesterday, Ima wondering if the larger minners had anything ta do with it. Also had to go to a 1/16oz jig as the bigger minners kept pulling away from the stump with the 1/32oz jig. I'll be trying it more for certain. <*)}}}><
You'll see the difference,,,on the end of your line!
