Thread: Pomona

Saturday was an interesting day for the Crappies. Chatt tried all his magic tricks including pink minners. He don't like pink minners but that blond gal at green acres can sell Chatt about anything. I hurried up and paid for the minners before she could sell him some crawdads, night crawlers and sponge bait.
As usual it was misting...seems like when Chatt and I get together, there's this electric quality that triggers moisture...probably caused by all the hot air we put out.
It really wasn't that cold out but I been warmer ice fishing. Chatt had so many clothes on that he couldn't even share the after affects of the beans he ate the night before. I appreciated that.
We flipped a coin to see who would clean the fish and it landed in the water so we decided not to keep any.
The only bait that was consistant were the wooly beavertails and some of the Crappies that we caught on them were actually bigger than the bait.
It was tough day but before we quit, I wanted to try some other plastics but Chatt left that C-4 in the truck.
Chatt did manage to hang a nice Wiper. We did show it to a near sighted bank fisherman and when he asked what it was...Chatt told him it was a new world record Crappie. Ya know...I think the guy believed it.

Sounds to me like you should have stayed at the bait shack :P Looks like you guys had a good time though.

sweet narrative...I haven't fished with him but from what I know of him from meeting him off the water he is probably a handful.



By the way Chatt, hows that new hds working? Sounds like the ss1 is in short supply but have seen a few pics. Anything on your end?
