I haven't fished that section for several years. If I remember correctly, and I may very well be wrong, when I went back towards the narrower creek area there was a sign to keep out because it was an eagle nesting area. Am I mistaken? If not, I assume the sign was not official.
I guess the next question is that I have a boat that draws a fair bit of water (a 17' center console that is pretty heavy), will I have a problem getting to the logjam?
Thanks,
Pete
The eagle area is way before the actual creek. If I got to the actual creek I use the ramp up there. I have seen 19' fiberglass boats in there.
I went yesterday and it sucked. 2 fish in 3 hrs
You can make it from the lake just takes a little time. Not a big deal if you want to fish along the way, but if you want to fish the creek only your better off using the ramp at the bridge.

When to the Rock Creek today, like Chadku stated it sucked, one fish, 3 hours. Lots and lots of shad, in the locator in the main channel.
The only problem with that is that I hear the creek is pretty shallow by the ramp. i would never be able to launch my boat there.
Can I go past the eagle nest area, or do I have to enter by the ramp?
Thanks,
pete
You can go around it

Fished Rock Creek today and brought home 15 keepers. All the fish came past the log jam. Fished as far as you can go up the river and started working back.
