Thread: What will be the highlight for Friday 7/30/09

Ron and I are planning on breakfast at Green Acres tomorrow and for me that has always been a highlight for the day.

Now according to Brent Frazee's Kansas fishing report

Fishing report for July 30 - Kansas City Star

it looks like channel cat fishing is the only game in NE Kansas except for Wyandotte County Lake which was the only lake he mentioned crappie. This time of year I would normally be fishing for channel but no someone's fabled shallow summer slabs pattern now has me buying minnows and going after crappie.

Even with this report "•MELVERN: 78 degrees, clear, near normal. Outlook: Melvern Lake Marina reports: all species poor." I'm getting excited.

I'm sure Brent means well, but some of the reports I've seen don't seem to exactly reflect the state of the fishing at a given body of water. Then again, I've done terrible when everyone else is doing great. I guess it's just a matter of who you talk to. I'd like to know who he talks to for his reports, fishermen, or bait shop owners, etc... My experience is a bait shop owner will tell you the fishing is excellent on live bait no matter what.

I'm taking out Bulljon New to the area and wants me to show him Clinton. Wind will be lite outa the SW. I'll convert him to "life with minners" and also show him where fishlessdan draggs jigs. Prolly even pull some cranks before the day ends. I'm really looking forward to this trip. Saturday, picking up Hef and headed to Banner/Sabetha. Football season ya know:D:D <*)}}}><

you all suck....No fishing last weekend as I had to leave for work in San Francisco. Got back last night and working today and leave tonight for Salina to my wife's cousins wedding....I hope to squeeze out a couple hours Sunday evening, but it is unlikely. Guess I will have to wait for dinkville tourney next Thursday night.

Watch out, for chicks in hot pink thong bikinis. Last summer I took a week off to fish at Clinton, and every day I saw this chick in a hot pink thong bikini catfishin on the bank. Every once in awhile she would have the binoculars out(thought she was checkin me out) and then she be writing in a note book. Beware! she was stealing my secret spots at Clinton, and she was really Crappie Chatt! disguised as a hot chick! I shoulda been tipped off by the chest and back hair or even the bald head, but, ya know, I was intent on fishin, and never pay attention to whats going on on the bank while I'm fishing. Now I know why my spots don't produce fish anymore, CC's been cleaning them out! Lesson learned! From now on if I see a hot chick on the bank I'm heading the other way!

Hey Kc Baller...you ever fish with Brent??? Ask Chatt if he can catch Crappies...he put it on Chatt and me a year ago at Clinton. Chatt and I were using jig and bobber...Brent just threw jigs with out a bobber so he could feel the bite. I tried it and had more hang ups than fish. Brent is a dam good jig fishermen...for about any species.
Only a real butthole criticizes another's fishing ability that he has never fished with.

I saw that same chick @ Clinton last year. I thought it was the game warden in disguise Now I know it was only Chatt. He was wearing yellow though.
