We hit a couple of the creeks for some shallow slabs with no takers. Some White Bass was all that we could find. Used both minners and jigs. After about 5 frustrating hours, we hit the main lake brush piles and did pretty good on both minners and jigs. With the lake coming up over 10 feet in the past 16 months, lot of flooded brush and vegetation. Might be too many places for the shallow fish to be in the creeks. Maybe the Chattster can go find a pattern.
but hey ya got on the water and had a good time ... that is priceless wtg
Supreme Leader of the Missouri Crappie Militia.........
Yes the lake that I fished was nearly down 6 foot for a period of 3 years + a lot of growth trees and bushes and now with the lake back to normal lt's really tough to get under the limbs and branches and small tree in clousters . The fish have a lot of cover and need to die off a lot to be able to get close to the bank. can't flip worms for bass and the I'm in the tree's when I try.. Still it's a boom for the fish as the had several years of good spawing in stuff that we can't get too..
ksfish99, Has the weeds showed up on Wilson yet, got the smallmouth bass itch, and crappie tugging fever.
Glen Elder is going to be a hot lake along with Webster and Kirwin. All are full and staying that way. Last time that happened at Kirwin and Webster, there was a Crappie bonanza.
Wilson smallie fishing should be getting into the prime. May go out there today after Stripers.
Smallies have not been good so far this summer...talked to a bass guy this morning and he said the last tournament was won with largemouth.
August should find the weedbeds matted over and a great topwater bite for smallies according to the local bass pros.
