Chad, the last couple of weeks Hillsdale has been producing huge numbers of fish; you'll go through a 'lake-n-dale dozen' minners per hour. Of course, you still have to catch 15-20 to get a keeper like normal, but the action has been great. I don't know though how this cold front will affect them for the weekend. Good Luck wherever you end up!

Thanks Lucky....I think I will end up at HD most likely...Where you headed this weekend?

brettbran....minnows have made a difference for me lately...you catch a lot more dinks but it has produced more keeper fish for me lately too....

Yes. the brushier and gnarlier trees are better. And its been a minnow only bite for me. Doesn't matter if the minnow is alive, dead, or mangled, as long as you are dangling some 'meat' in front of them. But still I can't catch one on a jig to save my life. My props to those that can jig fish these summer crappie!

Lucky and I were out on Tuesday and probably caught b/w 75-100 and probably only had 8 keepers. Went through 5-6 dozen minnows and ran out. I hate using minnows, but it seems like that is what it takes right now.

Thanks again Lucky for going. Had a great time.

4-10 ft down on trees in 12-16 fow produced the most, but that is also where we spent the most time. We also caught fish on trees in 6 fow, too, just didn't work the shallows as hard.
