About 5 years ago Chatt schooled me on dippin trees at a lake with just a fair population of Crappies. We caught about a dozen slabs in less than 4 feet of water on a hot August day, all about a pound and they were all Black Crappies. So I get excited about dippin and tell all my fishing buddies in this area. "Yea, sure, Slabs in shallow water on hot days" they responded and asked, if we also caught em on surface baits too, with a wink of the eye.
They just did not buy into this dippin thing.
Now the power of the written word in the KWP magazine has the same guys calling and telling me about the new hot summer Crappie technique.
Heeellllooooo...been doing this for several years now.
Same folks are the ones who pick up a magazine and read that if you use red hooks, orange line, kiss your dog before leaving, drink rotgut beer and eat lots of beans the night before and only whisper when you are fishing....you will catch fish. They do all of the above.
If you hear it...probably just a fish tale, If you see it, probably slight of hand, but if you read it...it's the gospel.
I just want to lay my hand on their head and say "Do you believe....are you a believer now...praise the fish gods and go dip some slabs"
Amen![]()
I knew it was the gospel when I READ it on this forum.:D
I am just pullin' your leg.:D
