    Thumbs down Clinton bust

Another friday and waitin out a rainstorm again except this time I wait at home, get to the lake at 6:30 with a good minnow count from " First Stop". Boat won't start at first and finally kicks over with continueous choke, it dies if I let up on the choke, so up the lake I head instead of deer creek, in case I'm stuck just using the trolling motor Tried a bunch of "bodark" trees in 6-15 F.O.W. no luck, then the 20+ mph winds started blowing right down the Wakkie arm, white caps galore real tough to fish so with the boat running a little better I went around the corner from the fireplace and got out of the wind , lots of good lookin trees but only managed 2 crappies. I tried shallow and deep, pretty frustrating when you got minnows and still can't catch em, guess I should've gone to HD
Nothing makes a fish bigger than almost being caught!

To bad you didn't have Ron on the lake helping you find some fish. At least you caught two with out Ron there, where as I had to have Ron's help to catch my two.:D

Clinton has always been good at humbling me and showing me I don't know squat about catching crappie.

I fished Deer creek just before you did, caught 3 short fish and left. Left there and headed to the other side of the lake, not much happening on that side either, did catch 2 keeper size fish though. All the fish we caught were in 10-13' of water dipping tree's with both minnows and jigs.........minnows caught the 2 larger fish. Good minnow count at First Stop as usual.

Shad everywhere and still no whites on the bust. My son really enjoys catching those whites.

Clinton and Perry can be very humbling. Need to get out and fine the wipers, bet they would a hoot on the ten foot crappie pole. I am thinking of going to Clinton again this week, have the back seat open if anyone is interested.
