7/7- caught about 40 crappie with only two being 10" or bigger. all on minnows. 27 fow about 10-15 feet down. tried jigs and had no luck. beautifull night on the water though.
7/8- got on the water at about 5 30 and fished till dark. caught about thirty keeping 10 with 2 being just over 12" and the rest being 10.5"-11.5". quality of the fish were alot better then the night before. i caught them all on minnows and a white and orage 1/32 oz jig head. the lake was busy with bass boats cruising around. we were tied up to a tree and this guy was about 15 feet from us and just flew by us acting like we werent even there. the water was pretty rough for my little boat last night.
I fished last night as well and for about 2 hours I must have caught 100 9" crappie. Had a friend meet me out there around 6:30 and had him buy large minnows and with bigger bait came bigger fish. I hope to spend the whole weekend at the lake.
I have had some of the Wednesday bass guys buzz right through a shallow flat you are fishing and they could care less. It makes me want to spin circles around the area they start fishing. That being said I try real hard to let that stuff go and get back to enjoying fishing.
LIFE’S TOO SHORT TO FISH WITHOUT BEER
I hope those bass guys have all the proper weigh in equipment. Big tanks and chemicals because the rules are very strict now for Bass tournaments and how the fish are handled. There should also be someone from KWP there to monitor it.
After putting up with that kind of crap from bass guys out here...I put the largemouth keepers in the livewell. When they start catching and releasing Crappies and Walleyes, I'll be glad to do the same on bass.
