    Default Big fish tourney?

I have noticed that the weekly tournaments are getting a lot of attention from the guys that live near Hillsdale. I was kinda wishing there was some kind of competition that everybody could participate in regardless of where they live or what their work schedule is like.

I was thinking maybe we could do a big fish tournament for the Kansas board? Guys could fish any time at any lake in KS within a designated period of a few weeks or months, or even for the rest of 2009. The longest crappie at the end of the time period wins the pot.

When I have heard of people doing this before, they normally have an official button or sticker that you get when you enter. You photograph your big fish laid out on a "golden rule" with the official button or sticker in the photograph so everybody knows the fish was caught during the time period.

I'm just thinking out loud... I don't want to be in charge of this tournament, but I would gladly throw in a few bucks to play.

I thought I would throw the idea out and see if anybody else would be interested. Has the KS board ever done anything like this before?

REALLY??? No interest at all? I break out the net for an 11" crappie, and my best fish in recent memory was 14.75, but even I would participate as long as it was only five bucks or so to play. I figured it would be more for braggin' rights than anything else. I figured some of you Toronto guys would be all over this idea.

I would be game. With my work I don't get weekends off, my days off are either tue/wed or thu/fri and durning the school year my hours are 3pm to 11pm with lots of overtime. So a tourny with flexible hours and days sounds good to me. Good idea of using a button.

I think the part of being in charge has left most of us quiet...I would sure join, but do not have the time to put it together.
