    Default Fish caught at Beaver Lake, what is it?

    A buddy of mine sent me a picture of what he claimed was a pirahna he caught a Beaver Lake. Best I can tell it looks like a pacu. Anyone have any ideas?

    Looks like a pacu to me. Very similar to a pirahna, but they eat veggies. Somebody released it when it got too big for their aquarium...don't worry, they can't reproduce here. I remember an article in the KC Star about 12 years ago reporting that someone caught a 4lb piranha at hd.

    definately a pacu. Wish people would educate themselves about not releasing non-native species into places they shouldn't be. any pet store that sells fish would of gladly taken it and found it an "aquarium" home.
