Thread: 6/20 Melvern

Put in at Arrow Rock and headed east along south shoreline looking for piles.The morning was fairly slow,caught 12 fish-2 keepers.Then a huge front rolled in.Spent 2 1/2 hrs. at marina.Once rain stopped went back and found a big pile.The bite was fast and furious for about 20-30 min. catching 58 with a limit.However,we had to measure almost all the keepers 10"-11".Used kentucky rigs and 1/4 jigs w/minners.It was a fun day but had to leave once we heard thunder and another front rolling in.Oh, started out fishing 18-20 ft. but had best luck in 12-15.

Good post, thinking on going there this week. Did you try jigs?

Yes,tried beavertails(pump./chart.) and had 1 hit.Could have probably caught some on jigs but they would hammer the minnows then the action would slow and then pick back up. Just had to keep moving around the pile until you found the rite depth.
