    Default MotorGuide fixer upper

I have a 55# MotorGuide wireless that I'd like to convert to manual. The wireless is shot but the motor is good. I've heard there is a conversion kit. Anyone know how it's done or where to find one? The electric turn motor is also good.

No luck. I guess there's no way to convert it. Thanks

Would it be worth buying parts and repairing?

It's a 1996 model so might be tough to get. I heard those early years weren't that dependable. The plug in module in the head was partly unplugged. That may have killed it.

I would take the time and search in eBay. Never know what you might find on there for cheap.

I have a used wireless for sale. 2015. Just pulled if off my boat to replace it with a new terrova. Let me know if you (or anyone else) are interested. I'll be putting it on the for sale page too.

I had one of the first old Minn Kota that used an electric motor to turn the trolling motor. When it went out I just cut a PVC T in half and used hose clamps to mount to the shaft. Stuck another piece of PVC in for the handle and worked great (considering I couldn't afford another motor!). I didn't glue the handle piece in so I could take it out when raising the motor. Not sure if this is what you meant but this worked for my situation.
