    Default Lake Shawnee

Anyone from around that area know if it's frozen solid or if it looks like they'll be able to open it on time this Saturday? I enjoy getting out there to chase those snot rockets around but I can't imagine it's going to thaw by Saturday unless it gets a lot warmer than they're calling for between now and then.

There is an East/West line open from the rowing club West to the bank. 30 mph wind should open more up today.

Good to hear! Still haven't heard anything about them pushing the opening back yet. I'm planning on trying to get out there Sunday so there will have been a couple good days of warm weather to hopefully open everything up.

Around here, it's a trout. If you go north, it's a small pike.

fishlessDan, I hope you're right. I know that Wyco lake has pushed it back the last several years it seems, and the trout have always been stocked by then. Sunday looks like a great day, my wife wants to go, I have a new boat and electronics to play with, and if I can't get out this week it will be my last chance until the 20th because next week is my annual training week and I'll be losing all my normal days off to training. Of course that would happen when it's supposed to be awesome weather out!
