New Boat Advice (Cont.)

Fellas,

If you remember a few months ago I posted looking for first time boat buying advise. Well as of last week I am a boat owner. I ended up finding an old Ranger that I am honored and thrilled to call my own. I practically stole it from the man who had bought it new nearly 20 some years ago. Took her out last weekend for the first time and she did great....caught some slabs too!!

Anyways, Now that I have the boat its time to buy the fun stuff. If any of you have or know of any electronics that are for sale please let me know. I like the idea of DI and i would love to have GPS on the console. Its got a decent Humminbird on the console that is GPS capable but not installed...the puck(AS GR-16) is $100 and tough to find too. I think a whole newer unit might be a better answer...??

I traded my 11 month old Elite 7 in with Lowrance and I am sure they will resell it as a reconditioned unit. Might check with them. Also check the classifieds on here if you haven't already.

Congrats on the new boat. Your story sounds about like mine on my last boat purchase which was a Ranger, and I felt like I stole it too. Very happy with it! I think if I guy knows what he wants and is patient, he can find a good deal. Found mine on Craigslist in Ohio!!

I have a Humminbird 998 SI that I'd be willing to sell. Just haven't taken the initiative to list it yet. It will come with a new transducer and GPS puck. PM me if interested.
