    Default Ducks!!!

Have any of you waterfowl hunters been seeing much? I have been seeing very few ducks or geese the last week. I hope they are all just sitting on somebody else's honey-hole and they will get evicted first thing opening morning...

Opening weekend was the same way last year and it turned out fine. Keeping my fingers crossed... Good luck to everybody!:D

Have heard a few folks seeing some Ducks around. Pretty scattered right now. Seeing some on ponds so there are some in the area. Now that I invested this year in Duck stamps and steel shot, I need to do some Duck hunting. Have one hunt lined up for Cheyenne Bottoms in November...but probably just be shooting with video camera. May wait for the big Mallard migration later but that usally happens when the Crappie fishing gets really good.

Had good birds last weekend. Had quite a few leave me this week. Checked um last night, not much where I'm looking. Been seeing seagulls flying by all morning, figureing we'll be getting more here pretty quick.

Brushed the last blind yesterday morning and kicked 75+ geese off the pond when we got there. Youth had lots of Mallards on our other posts with good number of geese so it's looking good for Saturday. Just got to remember to sleep between now and then.
It's not duck season so I have to do something... :D

Thanks for the replies everybody, and excellent pics Duckman! Good lookin' dog too.

Yeah, I'll be staring at the ceiling for a few hours Friday night... Pretty big mystery how Saturday is going to turn out. DHUSA, it seems like some ducks and geese have come and gone already. Hopefully some more are moving in.

I am taking out a new hunter on Sunday. I really hope we see some. I have been telling him for years how much fun hunting is. I forgot to tell him about the part where sometimes you work your arse off and go home with nothing to show for it... Hope he doesn't experience that on his first hunt...

Checked um last night after the rain, we picked up a few, not a bunch, bout 70% teal it looks like. Got lots of water, lots of flooded weeds out there.
I'm going to be hunting the 11 year old and a first time 14 year old with my 3 year old lab. Should be interesting.

    Good luck to ya'all!!
