Finally made it to Banner on Sunday. Caught some nice fish early trolling cranks(thanx for the info Slayer). That bite died off in short order though. We drifted some minners of the dam and picked up a couple more and I was looking at those trees wondering. Finally we decided we had messed around long enough headed for the trees with jigs and minners and guess what? The old Chatt tree dippin method works at Banner too. Cleaned 15 nothing under 11in. Biggest was 14 1/2 and came from the trees in 5ft. Reaaly nice lake, great weather and not many lake lice. later wiperhyper
glad you got into them jason...man are'nt those black crappie TOAD'S we will have to hook up sometime soon. you know were i will be good fishing buddy!
I am not the greatest crappie guy around Lord knows. However, I have been dipping tees in shallow water this time of year on Truman for several years. While I don't limit a ton fishing this way, the quality is hard to beat. I have always been convinced big crappie are much like big bass and are loners this time of the year and prowling the shallows. No doubt there are big fish deep as well but I am a shallow water sort of guy.
Hyper, what's a lake lice? Are you talking about an actual parasite that fish get, or is that secret code for fat girls in bathing suits? Either way, I get the idea it's a bad thing.
in kansas we have to sizes of lake lice
small ones the previously mentioned jet ski's
large ones are a little harder to identify but if you get close enough they usually have the lettering MO on the front of them
lol
