Default introduction

Hi All,

I have been monitoring this board for a long time and from time to time feel the need to post but resist the temptation since I haven't introduced myself. My buddy was giving me grief yesterday for not posting so here it goes...
Me= long walks on the beach, dinner by candle light, deep discussions about how my emotions are effected by poetry and of course fishing. I live in Spring Hill and mainly fish Hillsdale but occasionally venture out to different lakes around the state. In-Laws have a cabin and dock down at Fall River and make it down there a few times throughout the year. Most weeks I get out at least twice and manage to catch a few fish here and there. I have a black Lund fisherman with a white Johnson. I spend a lot of time trolling so I always have several poles sticking up so I am very easy to spot. Whether I am fishing or not please stop by and say hey.

We drove out to Pomona yesterday and managed a few crappie, a 21"wiper and a well fed whiskered fellow. We did see guys pulling crappie off brush piles but wasn't inclined to encroach. We were able to pull a few crappie from the trees in the 110 arm but from what I saw the brush piles might be a good place to start. Important note-Pomona marina actually counts out the minnows so for you guys that are used to getting 5 dozen when you request 2 my suggestion is not waiting until you're on the lake to buy them. Especially on this lake were you can go through 5 dozen easy.

Sitting in the gas station parking lot hungry and tired we noticed the sign for the "all day buffet" at the green acres restaurant. Had to hurry home or else we would have strapped on the feed bag. How is the food there?

Jeff

Welcome HV to KS Crappie .com!!!. I know all about that marina Went in there for 6 dozen and told her to stop counting and FORGET IT!!! " I don't have that much time" I get my minners at the service station next to the restaurant which is a excellent place to eat. There is lots of good piles in Pomona but, the bigger fish are in the trees. Fall River,,,, Mmmmm,,, been there in the winter and it is a GREAT lake. Ease over to Toronto sometime. Fish the trees there. WOW!!!! biguns to be caught in Mann's cove. See ya out there sometime! <*)}}}><

Glad to have ya HV. Chatt is correct, all of the bigger fish are in the trees at Pomona. Don't be afraid to fish the trees in extremly shallow water. I'm talking trees in 2-4 ft of water. Everyone has their own style of fishing and i don't use minners. The next time you are at Pomona and you see a Black and Red Nitro with a 125 Merc with a fat man in the front, stop and say hey and i will give you some pointers.

Welcome to the board Hairy. Chip in where you can. Just bunch of us guys who act like we know everything No just kidding. We like to have fun around here and provide updated info when we have it.

Yeah the gas station next to Green Acres has minners. They have new owners and really loaded us up the last couple times out. I have never had much luck on catching keeper fish on pomona from piles, but then again I have really only fished it during the summer in the trees.

Any advice on Hillsdale? I find that lake to be stricken by 9 3/4 fish!

They've grown a bit this summer - they're up to 9-7/8 now.

Greetings HV, we'll look for ya on the water!

Greetings Jeff, I have a Spring Hill mailing address but live on the north side of Hillsdale lake. I have an old aluminum boat with a 9.9 merc. I am the fat man sitting in the back of the boat. You could ask me for advice.....but it isn't worth much.

Chad/Eric
I caught a bunch of those 9 7/8's fish last night near the bridge on the Little Bull Arm last night. Managed a 11 and 12 but let them swim because their 10 inch brothers/sisters/cousins were not hungry. Stayed out until midnight using a greenlight but the best bite was at right before dusk. Weather is supposed to be stable for the next few days. Will probably hit it again afterwork and after the wife has a chance to cool down a bit

have learned a little most were caught on a minner tipped jig head

Antioch, I will battle you for a spot on the bridge when the water temps hit the 50's. It can produce a limit of good fish that time of year along with the damn and Wades Branch point.

Damn I am not skinny either. Are we all fat? Maybe we should spend less time sitting on our butt fishing and spend more time at the gym!
