Was at Pomona, Thursday, Aug 7th. First time ever on the lake. Fished with my 3 boys, ages 12, 11 & 11. I have and do keep up with the board here and appreciate the info and leads. Feel compelled to give back to the board with my experiences so that others can work on their strategies.
Got to Pomona late, about 3pm. Tried to fish the timbered cove but really didn't have the time to hone in on the "dipping" strategy. We gave it about an hour before I was itching to try something else as daylight was burning.

We caught over 100 crappie just on this one point. There was brush in deeper water, about 20 feet, more of a winter zone. Crappie were holding in the big rocks from 4 to 14 feet ambushing shad that were blowing up on the point. Lots and lots of 6" to 10" inch fish. Had a couple 14's, couple 12's and a few at 11 inches.
Hope this fires a few sparks and thoughts.
just my 2 cents
