Thumbs up Wow another great day on the water.

Hard to believe July 31 in Kansas and the weather was great.

Fished Louisburg Middle Creek from daylight till 10 am. I even stayed on the water another half hour since it was cloudy and so pleasant on the water.

I still haven't experienced this fabled "Shallow Summer Slab Pattern".

Oh I guess I wasn't fishing for crappie today but I was using my 10ft B&M crappie pole fishing for the whiskered types. Its been tough this year for catching any at ten pounds or better which falls in the CPR rule for my boat.

Caught 16 legal and 17 shorts today with the largest at 22 inches and I find these pellet feed critters very good table fare when filleted out.

Strange looking crappie, are they hybrids? Good catch and table fair, did you catch them on perch colored jigs?

LBM - you've sure got them pegged! Can't beat 30+ fish in a morning! I took my 4 yr old son out to Clinton this evening to drift for some cats. We ended up with 9 fish and some memories to last a lifetime. Ran into the guys that turned me on to the drifting and they had their 20 between them, including a nice 15 lb'r. Are you going to be at MiddleCreek again on Sat?

Being retarded or retired (probably both) I tend to leave the lakes for working folks on weekends. Winter crappie fishing I'm more apt to be on the water fishing.

My method of catfishing is not that productive while sharing the KDWP feeders with other boats. Just me and I have 360 degrees to fish around the feeeder and just one more boat cuts that down to a 180 degree range to fish which I have done and is doable. Whenever I go fishing this way I never know if I will actually get to fish this way so I always have a secondary plan to either fish for crappie or try for some bass.

I used to fish for bass quit a bit down there before being corrupted by the addictive crappie fishing bug.
