Default Hillsdale Flooding

Wow, the water is really high. The are not letting any out either. The downstream reservoirs must be really high as well.
Even so....managed 3 keeper crappie yesterday morning. I also caught a couple walleye which i had never done before and 1 really nice white bass. The walleyes were too short but were fun anyway.
With more rain in the forecast for today, it might be a while before the lake returns to sense normalcy.

What are lake levels like on Clinton or Perry?

Lake is still 7 ft high and they are not letting much water out. The only ramp usable is Jayhawk. You can put in on marryville but there is no dock to use.

Found the crappie in several different places. They don't seem to be concentrated in any one spot. I cleaned 14 keepers. Spent some time looking for the eyes and only found two shorts. Could keep the whites off my crank baits in 14 or less, but it was a great day to be on the water.

are you finding the crappie in deeper water? I caught a few last Friday with my brother and niece but Saturday and last night were really slow. I've tried fishing the willows without any luck, deeper water off the jayhawk ramp, and my traditional holes are not producing either. The only thing i haven't tried is the main lake.....

All of the fish I found where in 18 to 40 ft of water about 12ft down.

The high water at Hillsdale scared me off - went to Clinton yesterday instead, sounds like I made the wrong choice! Glad to hear you got into a few. I'm thinking I'll head back to Hillsdale Saturday. Anybody else going to be out there?

Lucky livewell I was at Clinton last night and did fairly well. I think we had 10 good keepers in 3 1/2 hours and a several shorts...Probably 25 fish total...It was not on fire, but a decent evening and we marked a ton of fish. Minners were outfishing jigs.

With only one working boat ramp at Hills you better go really early or after dark. I had to wait 10 minutes in and out yesterday in the middle of the day. Not the brightest bunch of people there. Had two jet ski's pull past everyone and back down to the water and start getting there gear ready while my lab and I waited nicely...

Get there early....As Al Lindner would say, "they're stacked up like cord wood in there".... Probably not a problem if you have a larger boat. What time are you thinking?

Thanks for the advice; I guess I'll try to launch about 6:00. I need to have enough light to see who is about to run me over!!!

My boat is pretty small, but I'd welcome anybody along that doesn't mind tight quarters.
