Watch the wind... It's not suppose to be light. Good luck and if you need someone to fish with on Monday let me know, I am single for the next few days.

I sure glad the wind doesn't bother the pros.

Since my only fishing thrills for the next three days will be vicariously acquired on crappie com I eagerly await your fishing reports in pursuit of the three pounders.

Since I recall your views on the close parking spaces at the Maryville ramp at Hillsdale let me know what you think of the parking spaces at Manns cove at Toronto. Its my understanding that the new ramp didn't include any improved parking spaces. They only had about enough room for three parking spaces and if some dork parked first then there was only room for one parking space.

Yesterday the Walnut Creek ramp would have required a archeological dig in order to find the concrete ramp and I didn't hear about the Verdigres ramp.

Anyhow good luck fellow.

When we were down there for camp, it was every man for himself. There was not marked spaces and if someone was to park in the middle in front of the ramp, it would have been rough for everyone else

Lee, Ya, it's small and now there is a sign you must have a State Park pass. NO!!! place to pay-at-the-ramp box???? Got there Friday morning at 7AM. Went to the Verdigris ramp to see if it had been cleaned out. It was and the water looked slighty green with about 8in of clairity Picked up clients at the HornyToads bait shop and off to Mann's. Put in and hit about every stump coming out. Started at the 1st point. Clients fishing with jigs tipped with minners and I was dragging a brown/chart. Yum beaver. Caught some nice fish, up to 14in. but not many. Pulled out and headed to the river. WARNING!!!! the ramp at the river drops off the concrete just as the boat slides off. No problem getting the trailer out but be carefull about loading out. Lots of lay-downs to fish. Caught very few keepers. Stopped at the old bridge to have a lunch break. Set out bobbers & minners. About 1/2 way through my samich, 1 of the bobbers sunk!! Client grabbed it and hollared "GET THE NET". Ya,,, he needed it as he hauled in a 16in female. Fished more lay-downs with very little success. About 4pm we started getting more bites. Fishing a fresh lay-down I hooked a 'MONSTER' Can't tell you what kind tho. It was there and then it wasn't. Might of been a whisker walleye. He! He! He! . I did manage to hook some bass. One of the bass I hooked turned out to be another 16incher black,,,,, CRAPPIE!!!!! Now I'ma hollarin. "GET THE NET" : Biggest black I've caught in a LONG time. There's gotta be more!!! Well, it wasnt fantastic for numbers but QUALITY!!! Rained there the last 2 days and it's up over 14ft and coming up 3/4ft per hour. It will be a while before I head there again as it will be much higher before it starts to come down!! <*)}}}><

16 inch black crappie?!!! That's awesome! I didn't even think they got that big. I think all of ours over 12 inches this year have been white crappies. Heck, my biggest black crappie ever probably wasn't much over 13. Great catch! Post a picture of that one if you took one. They always look rounder to me than the whites, and I like their markings better too. Not that I can tell a difference in the taste...

Hey, Chatt. They have ointment and medications for those itches these days. No reason to suffer with it anymore.

Chatt if I was going to scratch an itch a 16 incher is some of the best medicine you can find. Kit and I are talking about a run over the boarder some time this summer we'll let you know before we do it.

Back on topic. Ive never caught a white that big. Ive caught two 16" blacks but the biggest white from my area that Ive caught was 12". Great report. Gotta love a "Get the net!" story.
