Tried the trees again today, started off great, rods there binding and Ron was smiling. Then it happen, a eight fifteen the fish stopped biting. Tried shallow trees, the channel, deeper trees, floated open water-nothing. Ended up catching 18 crappies, 10 were 10 plus inches, one that would make 12 inches. Catch and release today. Spoke with two boats of guys fishing for channels, they had thier limits using soybeans as a chum. Caught their fish on various baits, including worms.

Ron...it was a summer school thing. School starts at 8:30 in the summer...and Crappies being a good school fish had to go hit the books. I think summer school gets out in the early afternoon which means the bite starts around 3 or 4 most days.

Do you go the full nine yards when night fishing -- submersible lights, etc?
