    Default Jig Holder

I wanted something to hold my jigs when I pull my them out of the oven after powder painting. Also, maybe use it to hang finished jigs on after I tie them. What I made is a rough prototype but I like it so far. I made it in just a few minutes with some scraps laying around the shop. I cut groves in all of the dowel rods to keep the jigs from sliding around.

Any comments/suggestions? I'm looking for ways to improve. When I get it the way I want it I'll probably build a nice one out of hardwoods instead of plywood.

Please disregard the painted jig heads. Those are the first batch I have ever powder coated.

I like the 45° angle, giving easy access. Good job!

Very nice clean workmanship. I like people that take pride in their work no matter what you make it out of.

Feel free to copy. You've just got to tell me if you make any improvements!

BTW, you can find 12" long 3/16" round dowel rods in a package of 12 at Walmart for $0.96.

Actually my scraps came from school. I'm an agri. teacher and we've got a HUGE shop that I get to play in.

Great idea. You might want to use all thread instead of the dowels - costs a little more but you can put more jigs on the rack.

Looks like it will work really good easy to get at with the extra space you left between the racks...

Ledhed, I can put the notches in the dowel rods closer together in order to put more jigs on the rack. I thought about all thread, but decided against it for a couple of reasons: weight, cost, and I like it being all wood.
