    Default jig casting mold thoughts

Looking into casting my own jigs. 1/32 to 1/8 oz
wish to use premium sharper hooks.
    Which mold would you recommend?

they are good as any and price is reasonable. Probably across the industry they are in the top of the list of mold users.

check ebay. I've saved LOTS buying my molds there. Put "Do It" in the search, you'll find lots of listings.

If you are looking for roundhead jigs and can afford it go with the PRO 100 (they have different collar models 101, 102) series – you will have to get one mold for each size. It can get expensive but well worth it. You can always make up the difference by selling more jigs.

The multi cavity DO-IT molds are good but if you decide you want to crank out one size – it could take awhile.

Like Hilts molds also – some don’t like the long sprue. Never could figure out why Hilts does that.

You can buy off of ebay, pay close attention to the feedbacks. I have bought a lot of molds, have got some pretty good deals, and got some real beats. In the long run you would be better off spending the extra money up front.

Highly recommend Shark River Mail Order - SRMO (they have a web site) for molds – they don’t have it – they will order it.

Shawn Collins makes really awesome custom molds – worth all the nickels. You have to be real serious about your custom jigs…. He has a great web site, lots of molds.

Some premium hooks don’t fit all DO-IT molds so be careful – you might have to alter some molds to accept the hook.

    Default SRMO + others

Ill second SRMO, decent prices overall. I buy my gamakatsu octopus 10/0 catfish hooks from them also.

Dragonflylures has a web site but does not answer emails ??? anyways they have an ebay store and have some new odds and ends of molds priced competitively.

Another alternative is lately i have been emailed Fishusa a few times and they will special order all kinds of stuff and have free shipping right now on $20 or more. Im sure if there was a little bit of interest they would carry them. When I am looking for something I email them, the very next day they send me a link with a new page they created for the product i requested and let me know availability. Really great service!!!

With some of the free shipping deals out now or $20 off 100 at cabelas there are some competitive deals out there at times.

    Default yamamoto swim jig mold

Barlows Tackle Shop: Browsing Gary Yamamoto Swim Jig Mold

    yamamoto swim jig mold

Gamakatsu premium hook specially designed for the Do-It Yamamoto Swim Jig mold. Round bend, kink shank with black finish.

This is what I am thinking about, remember I know nothing about this casting stuff or really hook sizes.
What I do know is I miss lots of big crappie cause the hook bends, pulls out or is to dull to set. I do not jig, I cast out the jig and reel it back in, It never goes below 1 foot deep. I like to use berkely 2" gulps curly tail.

Hey is anyone is already doing this kind, make me an offer!
