Grub, maggot, or whatever you may call it :D
Got the idea after adding foam strips to some jigs for dock shooting. The idea was to try and get them to fall slower, but it also reminded me of a bluegill fly I tie. The fly is tied with a material that sinks, but the craft foam here should slow the fall.
Started with a 1/32oz head with the barb cut off. (I had to use barbed heads since I didn't have anymore small collarless)
Tie in a strip of craft foam at the bend.
Take the thread back to the haed followed by the foam. once the foam is up to the haed, tie it off and add some glue. Easy as pie.
A few of them I have added some "legs" to for the added excitement.

Very nice how-to. Since imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, well - you get the idea.....
Thank you very kindly sir.

I have no doubt that will bring in a batch of gills.
I have some similar but tied on a 1/80 collarless head.
Zig ties that style with a small tail but uses yarn for body.
Inovative, I wouldn't have thought of wrapping foam ,but looks good. ole Mike
Thanx for this tip ... I will have to check on getting some of this foam.
That is a great "How To Do It"
Thanks Again

This is nice. You could also use latex glove strips. Bluegills beware. Nice job man.

What a great jig and presentation. Is the craft foam buoyant? Going to have to tie some up – hope you don’t mind. Looks like a real slow sinker.
