Oh well at least I can get the idea and now that I found this site and all its great advice and info I'm sure it will make my new hobbie alot more enjoyable thanks all in advance and if I ask way to many question just smack me

Hey if you find out you like tying you can always upgrade to a true rotary vise and I am sure you will if you keep it up. The thread thing will work OK, but at some point you may want to get thread in waxed 210 denier for jigs and in the color the body will be. If you are tying thread neck jigs you can get by with just red and black for the most part.

Ask questions and don't worry about if you feel they may be stupid or something as there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers, LOL!

BTW, I am sure you like me can not add up your take of meat by the cost per pound or ti will look really bad, especially deer hunting and the like. However when you consider a high dollar boat in fish get pretty expensive too, LOL!

Good Luck and welcome to the board!

    Now that is funny. :D :D :D :D
Get out and put your jigs in the water. Then you will really have a story to tell about the fish you caught on your jigs!:D :D

Same thing happened to me in the 90's with fly tying.

Hey guys, im working on my starter list for tools. One thing is the whip finnisher. Matareill style? can somone point me in the right direction on this?

I wish one of you guys would put a decent kit together for just jigs. One thing im having a hard time finding is jig heads, may have to hook up with one of you here to place an order.

Cabelas has an outstanding starter kit. Keep in mind all these tools were designed for flies not jigs. Those whip finishers work wonders on a size 20 dry fly but for jigs.... might think about doing it by hand first.

The style whip finisher you mentioned is the right one and made for jigs or anything with a large head when compared to a hook eye like flies have.

I am about to put a small kit of tools together less a vise for just what you are asking about.

I have the same problem as far as jig heads go I went to Cabelas and they have 1/64th in 25 packs but they are bigger then the 1/64th flu flu jig I used to buy. I think grouse will be able to hook me up hopefully.
