    Default Regal Rotary Vise

I am playing with the idea of getting a Regal Rotary Vise. Does anyone use this vise and what are opinions about this vise? Thanks for your input, Pop

pop - I collect vises and have 13 in the collection. I have 3 more that I use - one is a travel and the other two are in two different tye areas. I have been using Regal vises since the mid 80s. My favorite is the stainless steel version with the off set handle.
I got Faby the SS model (because of the handle) when she was 12 - she wanted to use mine but had a heck of time opening the jaws. Liked hers so I got one.
For me they are just to easy to use. Open the jaws, place your hook, and start tying.
I think the cost is reasonable - it's an investment. Tyed a bunch of fish catching jigs off of the ones I own - figure the vise was instrumental. I put a lot of torque on my jigs and never had a jig slip.

Never tied on one so have no opinion really. There are a lot of good vises and each has things about it that makes it better or not for each individual.

So I am sorry, but of no real help on this.

I’ve handled a bunch and don’t remember having used one, so I’m of no help either. Have fun with which ever one you buy.

They look nice. Would like to try a regal to see how the spring loaded jaws hold. Right now I tie with a peak fixed and have a peak rotary on it's way to me. Should have gotten the rotary to start with but was trying to save a few bucks. With what I have invested in tools, feathers, marabou, thread , wire, this and that, I bet my jigs cost about $8.00 each, but I still enjoy making them. I like making different color patterns and enjoy giving them to friends.

Rockhitter, I have a Regal now (not rotary) and I will tell you the jaws are great. That is the reason I am considering the Regal rotary. No adjusting like other rotary vises. I can use the same base for the rotary as my current Regal, a savings of at least 125.00. Pop

I have a Regal. Not the rotary, though. Love mine.
