Same here, except when fishing in water over 10' or when fish are in loose schools, 1/16 oz collarless gets tied on. Always collarless.

Yes I do all collarless. Jigs with barbs seems to just tear the plastics up. But on the other side I don't really fish plastics, I use all my own hand tied jigs. I am thinking I may get one mold in 1/24.

Next question is pillhead style or the good ole ballhead style.

Ball head jigs are my favorite bar none. I attach a wire L to secure grubs from slipping which, like you, allows grubs to last for 50 fish versus collared jigs and only a dozen fish.

(The fine wire is a weed guard I'm experimenting with.)

I think I have made my decision. Going to do 1/64, 1/32, 1/16 and 1/8 hand tied jigs. I may expand out more down the road but for right now going to stick to these sizes.

I got a couple pretty good size orders to start on next week and once I get them done I will be able to pour heads and get stocked up for the winter bite.

Thanks for all the info guys.

Consider 3/24 oz. ....kind of intermediate between 1/16 and 1/18 oz.
