    Split ring tool, too old, too blind, too clumsy, to do it any other way.

    jump rings AKA butt rings are way easier to use - won't chip paint on blades

    Have always use some split ring pliers. Over the years have tried a lot of them and finally have one I like a lot!

    I got these from Barlow's a long time back and am not sure they still have these. I got some others from them that are okay, but these for me are best! I do not have a brand name and all I can tell you is they are Stainless and made in Pakistan.

    This is a cheap pair I bought from bass pro and modified by grinding down pointed end to fit in smaller split rings. I have the zuron and several others but these work best for me.
