I still have all that I received in one of the few swaps I participated in. Some exceptional work was put into some of those jigs and I just don't have the heart to get em wet. All good work and I recognize some of the tiers that are no longer here on CDC. I sometimes think of them and the inspiration they gave me in the early days.

Not sure how they do it on this site. The host decides a theme - get a bunch of tyers to sign up. If you have 10 sign up - you tye 10 jigs and send them to the host (with a prepaid mailer with your return address). Some sites you do 11 - one jig going to the hosting site. The host takes one jig from each participating tyer, puts it in the return mailer, and sends the 10 jigs back to the participants. Usually you throw in extra tyes or materials to the host. Lot of fun and great way to build up your tying skills. I liked them because you got to see what everyone else does. I don't do them now because I'm lazy.

Interest for a swaps comes and goes - not sure why. 25 participants is a lot - tying up 26 jigs (same pattern) is a big commitment...

They use to have a lot of them here, but as time went on I guess guys got tied of doing them or not enough guys wanted to so it would be enough. Good target is like 15 to 20 guys min. I only took part in a couple because I was just too busy to be sure I would have the time to get them done back then.
