Default Sauger/walleye jigs. Who ties em?

I'm looking for some hair jigs for sauger fishing this winter. Would like to get some in 3/8 and 1/2 oz. I'm not particular about what material is used as long as it'll hold up to the toothy sauger and walleye. Please let me know what y'all recommend. Thank you.

Sorry I don't even have anything that large and don't really know, but would tell you to PM Grousefly on this site and ask him. He does about anything one would want!

I use craft fur for walleye jigs. It is quite durable and holds up well to toothy critters. I also Kevlar thread .

Sounds promising. Do you have any pics of your jigs?

I had a customer several a couple years ago who bough a perch colored version of my trolling flies. Here is what they look like in a salmon/steelhead version. But I can make any color combination:

I tie these up to size 3/0 hooks. Although these are unweighted per se, you can easily use a Kentucky rig or Carolina rig to get them down to your depths. I use a simpler version of these for handline drifting all the time. The Dodger Disc gives it tons of action.

If you like I could make a couple, mail them out to you, and let you try them to see if they'd be worth your time.

Poured bunch of 1/4's, 3/16's, and 1/8's and painted yellow for a guy up north. He sent me a pic of some he tied. Most were with #1 Black Platinum and some with the #1 LWH.
