What kinda flash do y'all use? I've got that twisted crystal flash and some real thin flat flash!

i prefer the thin flat flash myself in the tail of the handties folks make for me .....i like the action better ....

Ketchn that wold probably be flashabou and it's my favorite as well.

Yes most is Flashabou, but there are also some other brands. I do not like the version on a spool and it's hard to get it to not curl too much! Only use the long packages!

There are a good many guys that like the Krystal flash more and it probably holds up longer??

Krystal flash here. Fly tyers dungeon used to have a heavy duty version but I can't find it anymore.

I believe the wholesaler dropped it actually. I know they use to have what they called a saltwater version, but I don't see it offered there any longer. So don't think you will see it unless someone has some left over.

No. Not with sacalait. It only matters what color your trying to reflect.
Pick a few crystal flash colors or pick the flashabou that is holographic.
The crystal is far more durable for any other fish though. And fish you don't find in a freshwater lake/ pond etc and don't know what's gonna be at the end of your line, use the crystAl. River fishing I prefer crystal flash. Especially if you have toothy critter fish.

All good info so far. You might tie a few of each and let the fish tell you which one works best for where you are. Flashabou has more flex and both work very well.
