Congrats on a nice catch. It's a lot of fun catching fish off your own hand-tied jigs.![]()
Finally got on the water....and what a day...60+ fish now I did not find a bunch of slabs but great numbers for me..being a new-be...used my 1/24th heads and one jig just showed out...skip it was one I tied using your tutorial and my best to copy the way you tie...now I'm not even in you ball park just want to give you credit for the thread. I long trolled soft plastic's as well to put the heads I pour to the test as well. Learned a lot...our water temps have jumped to 64...fish headed to the bank...troll is about over and I missed most of it...maybe after the spawn, then the fall....now I got to start on a blue gill fly I guess...here is a few pic's look close at the middle fish has the champion laying on it...will call it (little bit) after my granddaughter!!! Here is a picture of my version of Bang-Bang fish and chips.

Looks great. You make the chips to? Do you think its weird that, that actually looks good for breakfast?
the chips easy...but a trick to it! need a slicer to slice paper thin! then the grease....be very careful will boil over...make sure taters are dry! then carefully drop in the grease for 10 seconds pull out for a min or two then back into the grease...that is what makes them crispy...learned that from Bobby Flay..cookin channel! Yes I learned when in fish camp...what do you want for breakfast...crappie..what do you want for lunch? crappie...what's for for supper...crappie...lol

I will just have to get out and catch some for breakfast some time this week. And sorry i didnt ask this question earlier but where you get the receipe for the fish and sauce?
Glad it helped! Hey the trolling is not over and just started. These crappie will go in to the bank for sure, but they don't lay all their eggs at one time or even in one nest so what you need to do other than find them on the bank, but also locate what depth water they are holding in as some move in and out. There will always be some at both places. Just once you locate the water depth troll with you eyes glued to the screen to stay on that count our line. I usually find them in 6' to 7' of water, but there have been time they held all spring in 9' and seems there are always some in that about 10' water too.
Very happy you did so well and that I could help a little in some way.
So congrats to you!

The sauce is my interpretation of the bang-bang shrimp sauce Bone Fish Grill uses,,,it's a Thai style....with sweet Thai chili sauce plus Srirachi hot chili sauce...mayo, ketchup a dash of peanut butter and a dash of Thai fish sauce...its a balance thing took me three tries to get it close...mild sweet...taste and then comes the heat....you'll not want to stop eatin
