Hays, keep in mind that we're all with you on tuesday. Tie some before you go, and take some to give away while you recover. The folks that recieve will always remember you. Hope all goes well.
Wake me up early,
Be good to my dogs,
and teach my children to pray.
Hey I should tell you a little about my experience so you will not be surprised by these thing that happen to some of us.
The longer you are on the heart pump the more likely you are to have some depression not long after. I know it too me over a year to feel like I wanted to do anything and I mean anything. It's hard to explain, but I was a stock trader for self and a die hard fisherman, but after that surgery I didn't want or feel like doing any of it. I am not talking about pain or anything like that because my experience with that part was a piece of cake since I had as major of a back surgery as you can have back in 1989 so when I woke up form heart surgery my first though was is that all? I know this was more serious, but the pain for me was not all that bad.
The hard part was making my self get out and do something, fishing what ever just something as i really didn't feel like doing anything. Once I finally did things got better and better. This was the start of why I started tying. I finally got back into stocks, but things had changed and I knew what to do, but just wouldn't so after 2 years of doing the wrong thing I quit. Looking around I knew TV was not enough so wanted something to do and started tying.
Anyway my main thing that I feel you should know is even if things go great and all is well, it is possible you will have to deal with a type of depression. So if you ever want to talk after this just let me know and we will talk. Don't believe that this surgery is only about your body and heart.
Good luck,
Skip
still snowing here and at 32" and still counting.mail probably wont return to norm.for another 3 to four days.![]()
"WELL"...YOU ASKED"NOBODY TELLS ME NOTH'N!!!
Holy _____ Bob you better invest in a sled and a team of Huskies. You all shoveled or blown or plowed out ?
Skip - thanks for advice but my procedure going to be pretty simple. But according to the Doc there is always some risk. I am more worried about the needles. I'm one of those big tough he men that knees turn to water when a needle is involved. Can't tell how many times in my 62 years I have completely passed out. Doctors and Nurses always think I'm kidding when I tell them" I would rather face combat again then get stuck with any kind of needle. " Been this way ever since I been little and I've long ago quit being embarassed by it.
Everybody- thanks for your thougts hopefully I will be back on here Wed or Thurs telling everyone how bad the hospital food was and how pretty the nurses were.
i know 2 poeple one who had 4 bypasses and anouther who had a transplant and i can tell ya what skip said is true for awile they just wasnt them selfs im not real sure the one who had trans ever will be himself again lol just mean now

Man luckily we missed that storm this time. But we've had enough of them to know it's a pain in the ass and my nephew left for Afganistan so I have to wait for my brother in law to plow me out. I have a bad back so he helps me out.
