    Default Mallard Flank Jigs

Anyone got ideas on how to tie jigs with them? Been thinking how best to use them...

Caution - I may sell them, let's not have a repeat thread. Credit will be given unless I figure out my own way (though I'm sure it's been done before). :D

When I started back into tying about 6 years ago, I used flank feathers. Below is a jig that I tied on a 1/16-oz. insert head with a 1/0 hook, I believe.

Tied for winterime smallmouth bass fishing. The feathers were positioned horizontally with the down removed from the front of the quills. Used this trimmed portion to anchor the feathers by overwrapping with the thread.

My use of krystal flash might have been a little excessive. :D

the kool-aid dye works great on these feathers just sucks shaking the water from each feather...
