The 2009 Jiggies

Another crazy idea of mine. How about having a award for the most popular jig of all 2009 jigswaps (including the current one)? I pm'd the higher up for his take on it, but wanted to know what you all think. It could be called THE 2009 JIGGIES AWARD! Simple rules, only one vote per member, can't vote for yourself. You'd cast your vote to a moderator of sort, via a PM, so only one (honest) person would tally the vote and anounce the winner, right before the new year.The winner would have bragging rights for the **ENTIRE YEAR**. Voting would start asap and end like DEC 29. The votes tallied and the winner is _____? ....What do you all think?

Interesting idea, I would suggest maybe a quarterly winner though and not just a years winner.

Hey Guys and Girls,
I have thought about a jig contest like they have for Atlantic Salmon Flies. Maybe have one every 3 months like fish 4 all suggested. Need a list of judges like the swapmeister list to send them all in to with maybe $5 and the top three splits the pot. Not to sure about the money thing though.But would like a contest of sorts with some kind of prize. Flatfish 46's swap was nice because of the judging and the prizes were great. 2 cents worth !!! Maybe 3 !!!

I like the idea, but there were a whole lot of jigs made and don't know if you would get more than one vote for any one jig out of the bunch? Maybe you need some nominations, 1 jig from each swap, let the swap master choose, to narrow it down and vote from that group??

Here's a thought.... random one albeit!!....

Let's say you set up a panel of judges. The judges would look at each swap and view the pics of each of the jigs entered into the swap (NOT the jigs that go to the swapmeister for hosting the swap!). The judges then choose the top jig from that swap. Then take the top jigger from each of the swaps for that year that the swaps were held and have the judges choose an overall winner.

Told ya it was a random thought!.....

I think it's time for that beer now.....
