    Question Do I need....

More junk?? LOL The place I regularly order from has Hair Stackers but around 10-12 bucks.... & i'm a cheapskate! :D I have seen them used on videos on the net before for flies. I have been using alot of bucktail for jigs, FF46 got me started with his swap. lol Also use alot of hair for flies including spun hair bass/bluegill bugs, clousers and such.

Right now, I pull the longest hairs out and lay down, pull the next longest & line up with the first, pull the nest longest & line up...... and so on.

I'm no commercial tyer, so speed is not a concern.
How much would a stacker help?
Do any of you use them for jigs or is this more for just flies?
Can I build my own from tubing?

I use stackers for bucktail when tying Clousers, Deceivers, and bucktail crappie jigs. They don't work though when you want to keep the length of the bucktail long enough for big flies/jigs. You could probably build one pretty easily out of metal tubing, but they work best when the surface of the stacker is slick/polished

WOW... That's way above and beyond what I was thinking!!! Thank you very much for the offer! C.c is made up of an awsome bunch of people......

No hurry at all - I'll just cross my fingers that it rolls out of a box into your lap someday. I have a bunch of olive/brown bucktails that will take me a lifetime to go through it all (got a BIG assorted bag on sale prob. 10 years ago!!) and can maybe trade you 3 or 4 of them for it. I hate to take things for free.

They sure make life easier when tying hair jigs of flies. Looks like you have one coming to you now so enjoy. I have 3 and each a different size for different amounts of hair and they all come in handy at times. Do I use them a lot? No, but I do use them all.

I'm still looking for it,brightside is my tying area is a whole lot neater since I started looking for it. Still have a lot to look through.Found other things I lost and things I forgot I had.Got so many jigs I'd give Cabela's and Bass Pro a run for their money, one store at least.Need to get rid of some, that's for sure.

They can be handy to have, especially when you're trying to line up hair for small flies or jigs.

In the mean time use a old 20 guage shot gun shell that has been fired. Never bought a hair stacker but have used alot of different size empty shells to stack hair.
