The fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad
I had to run right out and get some batteries and try this again.Hope that this is better.By the time I get a good picture the thread will start coming off, lol.

Only thing wrong with it is that it being photoed to death and not out catching fish.
Honestly only thing I see is a tie off that could use some work but that will come with time. Go catch some fish with it.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.
Really !! This little guy is worn out,He will get used and abused on Saturday.I know that I can take a picture of a fish with that little guy stuck in his mouth.lol.Thanks all.BTW, I do need some help on tieing the thread.I usually make a crappy knot then put a drop of glue on it.Then clear fingernail polish on the thread.

Check out the sticky at the top - 3 ways to finish. I whip finish by hand with good (strong) thread and use hitch knots if using weaker embroidery or floss thread. I tied for years using only the hitch knots and glue. They hold up pretty well with them, but strong thread and a whip finish (don't tell... I still use flex glue) is hard to beat!
Can't wait to see the pict with the jig being chewed on by a fishy.....![]()
Jig looks good. I use Gudebrod rod wrapping thread(I'm a rod builder and have a gazillion spools in all colors), then tie it off with 3 or 4 half hitches,
then put a dab of Sally Hensen's Hard as Nails on the tie off and sometimes on the jig head if I put eyes on em. Works good and if I tie em right they hold up well.

Sittin here wishin I was out fishin!!!
If you can pick up a matarelli whip finisher your problem will go away. I was lucky enough to have a BPS associate show me how a couple of times and then try it myself as he watched. Mine stay together so far, and no glue used. I'm a rookie too, and so we learn together.
Wake me up early,
Be good to my dogs,
and teach my children to pray.
