    Default Cheap flash material $0.99

Hobby Lobby has some excellent looking flash material in their Christmas section right now for $0.99 It's a lot of material and looks real similar to flashabou. There was gold, silver, and pearl, but not solid colored. It looked sharp. Not sure how well it would hold up but for that price it would be hard to beat. I didn't pick any up (I should have), because I have more flashabou than I'll probably ever use.

    Just a heads up.

I have several packs of both gold and silver Christmas flash (tinsel), but hardly use it as I mostly use other stuff. It should be fine though. Most that use fly tying tinsel or flash use the stuff that is gold on one side and silver on the other.

This stuff wasn't like regular tinsel you put on trees. It was thicker, about the same size and stiffness of flashabou. It was kinda holographic looking if you will.

Keep an eye open for "holo-looking" tinsel during "After Christmas" sales. You can find it for as much as 80% off (local Kroger store). There's a myriad of places to find it.

Went to my local Gander Mountain today (North Indy). They are having a 50% off sale on red-tagged clearance items. I purchased fly tying supplies (thread & streamer hair) at 25% off.

The Valparaiso and Chesterton area...have driven by it a lot. I used to live in Michigan City and Laporte. Love that area. Salmon and steelhead fishing.

Kroger has surprised me with their offerings to jig tyers. I doubt that they've ever considered their holiday dressings as such.

    Default Thanks

Thanks Agri. I stopped this morning for a couple packs. At the register, they gave me 40% off that price, making it 60 cents. I went back and doubled up. Expect to be some showing up in the next jigswap...lol. Also did you notice the gold, silver, green and red mylar tubing for 2.99 a roll.

Glad my tip was of some use. It looked really good and if I go back before Christmas I'm going to pick some up.

I didn't notice the mylar tubing. I've never used it before though.
