    Default Working on an idea

I need input for an idea I have but don't know if it will have any draw. I won't give away "how" I plan to do it but want feed back on if it would be a seller or not.

I want to make jig bodies in assorted sizes for putting on jigs to add mass and weight to the jig. A slip on round, oval, tapered, double tapered and whatever else I can come up with to make specific body shapes. Maybe even a double bulge if this takes off at all. It would slip over the shank and be somewhat shape able to fit most needs if the exact size is not available for the exact hook size and/or style.

Anyone think this is good idea? I figure it will work for both jigs and for jig hooks without a jig head on them. Especially the short eye shank ones.

Please give me some feedback on this. I am working on spinner bodies with the same concept so moving to this will be easy once I get this down and start making them. The hard part is making the molds for this.

No one else has any comments? Must be a real stinker here. I thought it might have some applications here. Am I on a totally bogus trail or does this concept have merit?

Is this the idea you are going after?

I made these myself (can ya tell?) They are cheap to make but take a while to do. Lots of pinching, squeezing, grinding, shaping.... and all dealing with lead dust. I'd rather buy the blank jigs than make the mess. I made a post little while back about some heavy weighted clousers I made with them. Is this similar to what you are talking about? I'm in love with these clousers I can throw with my spinning reel. I am still looking for something to make them with fat bodies but not weighted for my fly rod.

Thats the idea. Won't be lead but they will be weighted, slightly depending on the size of them. I do think that the smaller ones would be throwable with a fly rod but not sure. Will have to make some and get a weight on them in the general size.
