Jig head weight in grams

Someone sent me the actual gram weight for the 1/24 oz head but I have misplaced it. I know it was different than the weight Kelly had used in his Utube video. I would like to know the weights in grams for 1/32, 1/24, 1/16 and 1/8 oz heads. To much math for this old man to calculate.

with an oz being 28.35 gr
1/8=3.54 gr.
1/16=1.77 gr.
1/24=1.18 gr.
1/32=.886 gr.

I find most jig heads are not the same weight as they are said to be. Don't know if it's hook size or what they put with the soft lead to make it like they want or what but most of the ones I actually weighed have not come equal to what the mold was for that they used. I am sure most use Do-it molds, but I don't know and have never compared them with others.

The different hooks and different amounts of soft lead opposed to what ever they mix with it that will make the weight what it really is.

I kind of feel it is as much the physical size as it is the weight.

If I am wrong it would be great for someone to speak up.

I agree. I've got a scale which will weigh items down to .001 oz - and most of the jigs I weighed on it aren't close to the weights simple math says I should have.

This includes jigs I've bought and those I have cast. I don't have an answer as to why this is.

I posted a question of a similar in the thread on jig modification video that Kelly M. made....didn't get much for an answer....

I hear Kelly hung up his guide business and sold out. There are bound to be inconsistencies when you have so many variables. I just want to get close,

the diametrical equal would be .237 of a inch in dia. grains would be 18.9 standard

yeah i've often wondered about the true weights.... in talks with some fellow tinkerteers we questioned the fact of having two molds for 1/24 oz jigs... provided that the jig head was the exact same diameter, would a 1/24 oz jig with a collar weigh the same as a 1/24 oz jig without a collar? again, given the fact that the jig head is the exact same diameter for both molds...

With all the variables the heck with it use your jigs and go fishing. Depending on what you mold with the heads will be different weights anyway.
