Default Color combos that don't work ?

Have you tied up a combo that you thought would be a killer , then
found it to be a dud on the water ?
I've been doing a lot more tying than fishing lately .

good luck

Usually I find it a matter of timing and water clarity than anything else. Most of the good colors will have days they work well and other days when something else works better.

Example: This spring I was using Chart/Lt. Blue/Chart Marabou and doing well, but at some point the water cleared more and I had to change to Silver/Lt Blue/White.

Cloudy days I can go with more dark colors and maybe a Hot Orange tail. Things like the sun and water will make a big difference in colors that work.
